Sweet 'Toes

It's been exactly one month since I've been feeding Xia solids. It was one of my most favorite milestones! I couldn't wait to start shoveling people food into Xia's mouth! I love nursing and am still nursing, but it is nice to have a supplement to nursing. Xia seems so much more content and satisfied since including cereal into her diet.

We started on June 1 feeding her rice cereal. She was 4 months old; her 4 month Dr. appt wasn't until 3 weeks later. Poor girl, I fed her rice cereal for 3 weeks until her Dr.s appt instead of 1 week and moving on to the next cereal! Being a new mom, I wanted to make sure I was doing it the "right" way and waited for her Dr. visit before continuing with the rest of the cereals. First time Moms *smile* *eyes rolling*!!! hehe! I was thinking it was rocket science, but who would know that it's not *insert sarcastic smirk*! Well, since her Dr. visit, we've introduced oatmeal and whole grains. She loves them all!

Now that the cereals are tested with no allergic reactions, it is time for...
drum roll, please
...
Sweet Potatoes!!!

Today was the big day... I got the video camera out and feed her nearly 1/3 cup of the delicious vegetable! She gobbled them down right away and acted like it wasn't the first time she had eaten
them. Way to go, girl! Eat those veggies:)

I have decided to make my own baby foods for the most part. Me and the Magic Bullet work well together! The Dr. gave us this wonderful website, Wholesomebabyfood.com . It is really helpful and explains the ins and outs, etc. When it comes to traveling, I will buy baby food. No toting around my homemade stuff... that's where I will draw the line!

And speaking of sweet toes... here are some shots of XBG's sweet toes (newborn footprints, 3 wks and 8 wks):
