After last nights kitchen scrubbing with my apron & rubber gloves, I have given myself a new title: Domestic Diva! Here is what I look like when I cook, clean, and hang around the house!!!!

Baby News

Baby Garcia "is active" according to the Dr! While trying to locate the heart beat on the little wee one today, the baby seemed to be squirming away from the device. I am 13 weeks today and doing well - a 1/3 of the way through this journey. We'll find out the sex in 8 weeks when I am 21/22 weeks along. I will start taking pictures of my growing belly soon to chart the progress.

In other news, summer school will be done on Friday after I take my final. Yay! I will have a full month break before starting the fall semester. When the baby comes along, I will re-evaluate my school plans and goals before picking up the books again.

For those of you that don't know, this summer I started back to school to pursue an additional degree in Accounting. I haven't made much of a dent in the program, having only taken Acct I this summer and enrolled in Acct II this fall, but baby news sure does make one reconsider! I already have a degree and may just put school on hold during this season of my life. My natural tendencies are to try and accomplish everything at once instead of enjoying one thing, or one season of life, at a time.

Hello, Goodbye

We hosted a goodbye party for our dear friend Meg over the weekend. We met two years ago and have been dear friends ever since. So sad to see her go, but so proud of her pursuing her goals. I look forward to visiting her in Chicago one of these days. I will never forget the cherished memories we shared, the much needed "tea" talks, and all the laughter we enjoyed together:). Like the saying goes -"Make new friends, but keep the old. One is silver but the other's gold." You are "gold", my friend! The goodbyes were switched to hellos as we introduced our wee one to everyone who attended. The ultra sound picture was a hit as everyone was huddled around it trying to find the correct layout of the baby!

As if one goodbye wasn't enough this weekend... we sold our trusty Toyota Tacoma pickup truck. It was such a good truck and served us well. But as we are preparing to say hello to Baby Garcia in the upcoming months, we will need another family car.

Facebook 2005, MySpace 2006, Twitter and Blogging 2009

I have finally done it. Posting my first post on our blog! I've had this account for about 10 months now and have finally posted something. Ok, I'm done being in shock over my lack of blogging knowledge.

I got excited about blogging after attending my first tweet luncheon. I met very few people; they were all busy tweeting on their phones
shown on the live feed, on the overhead projection screen while the various speakers were speaking. Interesting day and age! The one person whom I did listen to, in and out of reading all the tweets on the big screen, was a lady who is moving to Israel to work on a documentary. She mentioned that she would be blogging about her experience and also said one more thing that inspired me: "There is a time for everything..." Ecclesiastes 3:1. I know there is a deeper meaning to this verse that did indeed provoked my thoughts all afternoon, but I also realized that this is my time to record the wonders and happenings of our family. I cannot buy back time, nor will my mind remember the excitement of being a newlywed and pregnant !

So I close with: Tweet me @ alogarcia, facebook or myspace me, or just read my blog!
