Blue

Yesterday, Xia was getting into my finger nail polish, as usual, when she seemed to be very determined to make me paint her toe nails. So I thought, sure why not. Hoping that she wouldn't smear it all over the furniture and carpet once we were done! 19 month old babies don't have the patience to let that polish dry!  So I picked out a blue, an orange, and a hot pink & let her decide among the three colors. She was very decisive and picked out the blue. I had her say "blue" and it came out more like "booooo". Adorable! She sat down and let me paint her toe nails. She kept still and wanted more - her finger nails, too? I thought, surely you jest!!! Nope she was really into this and wanted her nails painted. She smeared them a bit here and there, but sat still long enough for them to dry decently. She is going to be my girly, girl!!!

Gruene 10k / Gruene Day

We have been looking forward to the Gruene 10k (6.2 miles) for a couple months now. We had several friends coming with us from San Antonio, a day planned in Gruene, my mom to babysit Xia, etc. We were ready to exercise and party!

I met / surpassed my goal!! I completed the run in 48:52 (goal was btwn 50-54), and finished #6 in my age group (goal was in the top 10).  You can ready my full experience on my other blog http://eighteenweeks.blogspot.com/2011/09/gruene-10k-ended-week-9-with-bang.html

Gruene 10k stats:
  • Finished in 48:52 / 7:52 pace
  • Finished # 6 out of 70 in my age category
  • Finished #15 female out of over 300
  • Finished #62 overall out of 620 runners

Oscar and I - post race party
After the 10k and post race festivities, we headed to one of the wineries in Gruene for some wine tasting. It was fabulous. We had a great time visiting and celebrating our accomplishments:) The rest of the group is outside on the patio. Forgot to get a picture of them...oooppps!! After wine tasting, we went to Gristmill for lunch... yummy! Oscar and i split their delicious ribs. I think I consumed more calories than I burned that day!

Hardberger Park Day with Mom & Dad 9-4-11

This morning we woke up to some pleasant weather. There was a great breeze and it wasn't super duper hot, just hot!! LOL!  We decided to go to the park and enjoy some family time. Xia was in heaven having both mom and dad with her:)

She got to pet lots of friendly dogs and waved "bye-bye" to them all when done!

She went down the slide for the very first time - all by herself! However, she had to have Oscar stand by the slide before she would go down! Not me, only dad!! LOL! It cracked me up! I am so proud of my little girl:)

such a big girl climbing up the slide!

she won't slide unless daddy is standing by:)

"daddy come stand by the slide" crying face!

More Zoo time with Nana & Grandpa 9-2-11

She had a blast, again! The zoo with her grandparents has become a huge hit. This time we spent time at the petting zoo with the goats. Boy, was Xia in heaven! She was petting them, kissing them, brushing them, etc!

Zoo Day w/ Nana & Grandpa

Last week we went to the Zoo with Nana, Grandpa, and Elijah, & Gracie. We all had such a great time! We only stayed a couple hours before the heat got the best of us! About noon we headed to lunch, where Oscar joined us. It was a nice family day:)
Xia had a great time and was out of her stroller in no time holding Nana's hand and following the older kids! My Mom captured some great photos...
