"Where's Your Bow?"

On Sunday at church, Xia pulled her bow out of her hair. Oscar asked her "where's your bow?" and she reached up and touched her head where her bow had been and had a questioning look on her face! Good thing this all took place during a song, because we couldn't contain our laughter! How cute is she?! We love her more than words can express.

All this goes to show that she knows what's going on (more than we think)! My new task is to start working with Xia on (more) sign language. All I know now is "I love you" "food/hungry", "more", and "all done" and a few other. I want to teach her the signs for "nurse", "water", "please" and "thank you".

Our Little, Baby Girl is Growing Up On Us!

Xia's been rolling all over the place to get from point A to point B this past week, but today especially. She's been pushing up on her knees trying to propel herself forward, but ends up going backwards! She makes huge circles on our living room floor just scooting herself around. It's so cute! No longer does she stay on her little blanket, sitting up playing with her toys. Am I ready for my baby girl to be more mobile? Am I ready for her to...*gulp*... CRAWL?! I'm not sure if it's an emotional thing or if I'm just not ready to child proof my house yet! So many mixed emotions as she grows up a little more each day. Excuse me while I go shed a tear of joy and sadness.

A few more big girl things she is doing...

She's started waving "bye-bye". At first we thought it was a fluke, but them she kept on doing it everyday to Oscar! It's so precious!

When she is sitting up, she bounces on her bottom and hums!! It's too cute!

She's showing more of her will as well!! Not anything too much to handle but enough to get our attention. When she wants to be picked up, if she's waiting for me to feed her solids, or if she feels that she needs to be noticed (!), she clenches her fists and jaw and makes a grunting sound... is this a sort of tantrum?!! She comes by it honestly!

She is extremely vocal (she takes after her mama!!). She "talks" all the time and makes all sorts of new sounds, constantly. She makes friends everywhere we go, "talking" and smiling at the people that stop to compliment her. I can't believe she's mine! She is an awesome baby:)

When we are playing with her and making her laugh, she forces fake sneezes and coughs to get a reaction out of us! She is a mess! We can't get enough of our little girl! She is PRECIOUS!

UPDATE (9/15/2010) A few more things I forgot to add!

After we lost her last pacifier at the Zoo (end of Aug), she doesn't want her new ones at all! She had lost an interest in her pacifiers in August and would just chew on them. After she lost her last one, I bought her new ones and she won't touch them! She doesn't even want to chew on them. She doesn't suck on her thumb or fingers either.

She has a pouty lip and a pathetic whimper that goes a long with it! She does it when I don't spoon another bite of food in her mouth fast enough and sometimes when I'm changing her diaper. I must say that it is cute:)

Foreigner!

Oscar and I went to see Foreigner last night! It was SO MUCH FUN!! Special thanks to my sister, Kara for babysitting Xia Bliss:)

A few weeks before the concert, Oscar got Foreigner's greatest hits CD! We've been jamming to Foreigner for weeks and then to go to the concert last night was way too much fun! We only had pictures from our blackberries, so their not the best, but it's all about memories:)

A Little Curious...

Xia loves HBO's "A Little Curious". She's been watching it since she was about 4 months old. I'm not one to sit her in front of the TV and use it as a baby sitter, but this little educational show is perfect for her. Some days I sit with her and watch it with her, other days, I get a shower in or update my blog. It's amazing how much I can accomplish in 24 minutes!!!

As you can tell from these pictures, it grabs her attention 100%! Too cute!

7 months and such a Big Girl!

Seven months is hitting me harder than last month! Seven months is growing closer to a whole year... I'm going to be a mess when the one year mark comes around!

She is so much fun. She is such a happy and content baby. Ever since she has been sleeping through the night (almost 2 full weeks to the day) and taking a good afternoon nap, she's been a dream child. We can't get enough of her all day, everyday! For the first time the thought of having another child in the future doesn't make me want to run and hide! I feel like a new person with more sleep. We go on morning jogs (I'm up to 5 miles in 54 mins), I get errands done in the morning when I use to be sleeping (!), and my days just seem so much more fulfilling. I am so grateful to God for the gift of sleep!

I've been reading a whole lot more to her throughout the day and before bedtime. I've been reading to her in Spanish and in English. From her counting books to the 23rd Psalm. I know my accent and pronunciation may be a little rough, but hey, I'm working on it!!

Also, Happy Birthday to my younger brother, Jared! He is 21 today!
