Lake LBJ Retreat

This past weekend, we went to our friends lake house in Marble Falls. They were gone on family vacation and offered their home to us for the week. It was lovely! We needed a little retreat as a family.

We left on Thursday evening and returned on Tuesday morning. It wasn't without it's ups and downs! Xia stayed home from school on Thursday due to vomiting. She didn't have a fever and didn't have an appetite. Poor baby. She only threw up twice in the morning and was able to keep down her mid day crackers - or so I thought. Before we left she was chasing the dog outside in the heat... not a good idea! We went ahead and left thinking the worst of her sickness was over until she threw up twice in the car!!! It was quite the ordeal! Oh my -something I don't care to repeat! The rest of the ride down, she was fine. The next day she had a diaper explosion during nap time. Thankfully, that was the end of the bug she had!!!

Friday, we enjoyed the lake as a family. I was so relaxed with my chair in the water and the sun shining down on me:)  Later that evening, my sister, Kara and her boyfriend, Chris joined us.

Saturday, my cousin, Preston and his girlfriend, Hannah came up just in time to join us at the lake. We had a great time as family visiting and enjoying ourselves. The guys bbq-ed fajitas and chicken. We had a feast for dinner and enjoyed porch time until we all crashed, tired from the days full activities.

Sunday, Preston and Hannah left early, while Kara and Chris stayed long enough to watch the Lincoln Lawyer with us and go to the lake once again. Oh, so peaceful and relaxing! That night it was Oscar's turn to get sick. Poor thing.

Monday, I took Xia to the lake alone while Oscar rested. It was still a great last day to our little retreat.

Tuesday, we left early and drove into town just in time to drop Xia off at school. It was nice to unpack by myself. It gets done much faster!

Lovely sunset view from the breakfast table. This is my favorite spot of the whole house:)

My awesome family:)

She loves pulling items out of drawers and putting them back!!
My little cutie pie:)
Xia was quite the swimmer while we were there. She spent about 30 minutes on Saturday "swimming" between Oscar and myself. She was kicking her feet, moving her arms and holding her breath!! The other days, she was equally as active practicing her swim lesson techniques with me. The light bulb in her head is on and bright when it comes to swimming! I'm so proud of her:)

I was able to keep up with my workouts and got a couple jogs in and an interval training on my bike done. All in all a WONDERFUL time:) We are so grateful for our kind and thoughtful friends.
