Xia started swim lessons this month! We enrolled her in the 10 week summer program with San Antonio Swim Academy. Her first lesson (Wednesday, June 8th - 16months, 5days), went better than expected. She had only a 30 min nap that day at school and was fussy. On top of that, prior to her swim lessons she wouldn't let us immerse her in any body of water other than the bathtub!! She did amazingly well on her first day, hands down. She was a little difficult to work with in the water, but our coach, Mr. Issac was great with her. He even got her to give him high-fives!
Week two swim lessons I was having gall bladder surgery, so my sister, Kara and my mom took her. They reported back that she did GREAT! She went under water, jumped off the side of the pool to aunt Kara, and was the only child in class to let Coach Issac use her as the example! I am so proud of her:)
I can't wait to see how the summer swim classes will pay off. Wouldn't it be something if she actually grasp swimming after 10 wks? Although my only desire at this point is for her to learn water safety and to lay the ground work for swimming when she's older.
