Our Xia Bug is 10 Months!

Xia turned the big 10 months on Friday. From one day to the next it seems that she is doing something new!

She talks up a storm and has conversations with me now all day long! I'm not even kidding! It goes something like this "dab, da, da, bla-la-la, bob" - giggle - "dab-a-da, do-da". Me: "really, that's a funny joke, tell me more". Xia: "uh-la-DA-DA-DAD-ADAD"!!! Then she crawls off to the dogs room, pulls up to stand on the dog gate and calls our black lab into the house "DA-DA-DA", Tokie ventures in and sniffs her and she "dances", more like bobs up and down, and laughs! Of course I'm not doing any of this justice - she is even more adorable in person doing all of this! I have the cutest, coolest, and most adorable daughter EVER!! She likes tongues and has incorporated her tongue into her conversations now. She likes mine, too and it never fails that she tries to grab it as I mimic her sticking it out! She used to say "mama", but I haven't heard her say it in a couple weeks now. I'm a little sad, but nevertheless, I'm glad her speech overall has progressed. She's become a total daddy's girl and goes to him over me most times. Oscar is wrapped around her little finger!! I am happy that she loves her daddy so much. As a stay at home mom, I worried a little that she would be overly clingy to me, but that is not the case and she gets a long with both of us equally. She's a little cutie pie:)

She's become quite a good napper and I've been forever grateful that she now realizes that she needs her beauty sleep:) She continues to sleep well at night. I am also grateful for a decent nights sleep these days!

She is eating more and more finger foods. I cut grapes up and she goes to town! She still has to have her bananas as well and manages them so much better these days. She doesn't squeeze them to mush like she use to! She went through a small phase where she couldn't get enough carrots. I thought she might turn orange, but then that craving stopped! I made lentil soup and with carrots, celery, and onions and she would only eat it up if I added applesauce! I've learned that she will eat nearly anything that has applesauce in it! She used to eat her veggies up like they were candy and cake, but I guess things change as babies get older and the introduction of new flavors and textures. She also didn't like turkey @ Thanksgiving like I thought she would, so I blended some up with veggies and applesauce (!) and she ate it fine. Here's what Xia's eating these days: her veggies, fruits, meats, lentils, fish, yogurt, yogurt bites with real fruit (dole), cheez-its, cherrios, and pizza crust (when we eat out @ our favorite pizzaria - Ray's Pizzaria on Blanco/410). I let her have a few bites of cake last night @ her friends 1st birthday. Yes, she LOVED it!!

I'm still nursing her and will continue to do so until she's a year...then we'll work on the whole weaning thing. I'm not looking forward to it as she only naps if I nurse her to sleep. At bedtime, she will either fall asleep nursing or her new thing (which I adore and prefer!) - she nurses until she done and then she just lays in my arms and lets me rock her or she puts her head on my shoulder and closes her eyes and lets me cuddle her! She has NEVER let me do that before. In that case, I put her in bed BEFORE she's asleep and lay her down awake and relaxed:). I know that these days of nursing and cuddling her before bed won't last forever, so I'm soaking them up:).

My little monkey still doesn't have a tooth in her head! She is constantly pulling at her gums and chewing on her fingers and toys. I'm sure they're in there somewhere, but my goodness, I want to see them!

We started singing Christmas carols at bedtime and she LOVES it! Although she LOVES music and dances all the time when music is on! My goodness she's a cute little doll:)

I keep thinking she'll be walking or standing alone, at least, before long. She's been pulling up on everything for a while now, but recently she's been pivoting between toys and in the process she's taking mini steps. A couple days ago, I caught her "cruising" briefly along the couch!!! What?!?! I'm not sure I know how to handle this! She's growing like a weed!

She is a doll and our angel child. We love her so very much!

Xia and Daddy - Daddy carriers her around like this a lot!
Action shot with mommy!

She was fussy - but still cute pic w/ mommy!

How sweet! She loves her daddy:)

Her daddy loves carrying her on his shoulders - what dad doesn't?! She doesn't look particularly happy, but most of the time on Dad's shoulders, she's in her happy place!

12/6/10 UPDATE:
She laughs just to laugh! She laughs, I start laughing and then we laugh to each other for minutes on end! She is PRECIOUS!
She thinks that passing gas is FUNNY! What have we done to teach her this?! Like yesterday in church...during the closing prayer...loudly...and then grins so big the people in front of us nearly LOL!!! She thinks its funny and then grunts to do it again so she can laugh and make us laugh more - OMG and cute at the same time!!
She'll eat cottage cheese...only if applesauce is mixed it! She's not big on the whole dairy thing yet.
